On March 11, 2016, floodwaters inundated Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College. The progress at the Abbey is exciting, and we take comfort in the generosity and kindness of the community who have made our continuing recovery possible.

Thanks to everyone that came out and braved the cold weather to support Saint Joseph Seminary College at Deo Gratias this year. It is humbling to witness the unwavering support which enables the Abbey and Seminary College to continue to be a place set apart for prayer, education, formation and service to God.

Abbey Youth Fest is Saturday, March 17
Registration is now open for Abbey Youth Fest, the largest youth event within the Archdiocese of New Orleans. AYF is open to teens and young adults ages 13 or older. Featuring author Emily Wilson and singer Ike Ndolo, AYF will also feature new breakout sessions for boys and girls as well as a Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit.

Seminarians volunteer at Local Therapeutic Equestrian Center
Each week, seminarians volunteer at the New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center, in which horses help adults and children who have physical, cognitive, and emotional difficulties. The visits are part of the seminary's pastoral formation program.

Saint Joseph now has the largest seminary college in the country
Saint Joseph Seminary College welcomed 145 seminarians this year for the Fall 2017 semester. Seminarians this year represent 22 archdioceses and dioceses from seven states across the Gulf South region.
